Large, light-filled 2br in West Philly

When I first met Matty over ten years ago, he was involved with Spiral Q. He was a young activist with lots of pep. He still has hella pep in his step, only now alongside him walks a tiny dog. Ridiculously adorable. Matty now rents out some properties, while also working for one of our favorite non-profits in Philly. Here's one of them; I haven't been to this one, but it's deliciously close to me so we can be neighbors! Every other apartment of his I've seen has been a stunner. Also, Matty says he's flexible about the move-in date; later in May is okay too. He's asking $1450.
This is a beautiful first floor unit. Hardwood floors, fantastic original leaded windows through out with storm windows for energy efficiency. Enter the apartment via a well-appointed sun room, great for leaving shoes, umbrellas and and the like, or sitting in the sun and reading the paper on Sunday. You enter into the great room, which is charming and has a lovely scale well-appointed with a decorative, original fireplace and closet big enough for plenty of jackets, boots and bags- essential items for heading out. The kitchen is comfy and opens out on to the dinning room. New lighting and original wood work and wainscoting in the dining room make for the the perfect place for charming meals with friends and colleagues as well as fun meals alone or with your roommate/partner. The back of the apartment opens through a hall with a large and sunny bath with tub and linen closet, additional room (perfect for a study or home office or additional bedroom). The final room is the master bedroom. This room has a great window over looking a garden and a giant walk-in closet with light for ease of seeing your clothes. The two back rooms have carpet; the apartment was recently re-plastered and repainted.

Dishwasher, hardwood floors throughout with bedrooms carpeted, central air, gas cooking and cable/internet hook up ready.

You can see pictures here.

Available May 1st!
