Looking for co-director or assistant director for the high school edition of "Rent"

I am putting on the high school edition of "Rent" in the fall in conjunction with the Rotunda. It will be a community based theater project with an educational bent. Rent has been described as a musical for people who hate musicals, and in the spirit of that, I am looking for someone to co-direct or assistant direct the musical who is not really a theater person. I am looking for someone who understands performance, and has experience as a performer. Someone who would enjoy working with teens. it could be anyone from a poet, to a performance artist, drag queen, to someone in a band. Preferably someone with dance or choreography experience. Experience with Improvisation a plus.

It is a paying job and would be about 50-75 hours of work from Sept. through December. Most rehearsals will be Monday and Tuesday evenings. If you know of anyone who may be interested please send them this and have them email me about their experiences and interest in the project. Must love the musical and have an interest in learning more about it. Must enjoy working in a manner that is collaborative and creates community. We will also be addressing the various aspects of the show that include HIV education and awareness, history of activism from 87 on, LGBT issues, gentrification, protest, health care, etc. A portion of the profits will be going to foster awareness and support of artists, musicians, and other non-insured members of our community. The project will be based in West Philadelphia.
