This is awesome. Cliff S posted this on the internet, and I just copied and pasted what he wrote. Cliff is the younger brother of my friend Laura who I have known for years; they grew up in the area, and so Dark Waters has been a part of their life perhaps in the way that Galil was part of mine. But many many childhood friends of mine told stories every September about their adventures at Dark Waters.
Camp Dark Waters, a Quaker summer camp based in Medford, NJ, is looking for a female trip leader for their "Teen Adventure Camp Senior" (aka "TAC Sr.") travel program this summer from Jul 2-16. Trip leaders work 24/7 during the two week trip, co-leading a group of ten well-behaved and clever high schoolers in outdoor pursuits in the Mid-Atlantic. This is basically a two-week road trip, hitting up all the fun places to spend time outdoors, including Delaware Water Gap, Shenandoah National Park, and of course, the Jersey Shore. Activities include camping (every night), canoeing, climbing, and backpacking. Candidate should have strong working knowledge of camping and backpacking.
The position also includes three days of trip prep June 29 - Jul 1 (8-hr days) plus one day of trip cleanup/debrief (8-hr day). Pay starts at $1,000 for the position. Seeking candidates with experience in outdoor trips and youth development (esp. high school-aged). Must be 21, have driver's license. Advanced first aid required, or willing to obtain.
Excited candidates should send resume and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
